BSBP reveal.

This is my BSBP reveal! Yay! (See my previous posts for the beads my BSBP sent me, and a link to her blog; here is the link to the complete list of blogs in the BSBP).

So I was sitting side by side with my six-year-old son, companionably doing our "arts and crafts" together, when he astutely observed: "Mummy, why do things always look so brilliant in my head, and then, when they come out, they don't?"

Good question, mate. I have often wondered the same thing myself.

"It would be a lot easier if we lived inside our heads," he added, helpfully.

Anyway, my main BSBP creation, which was originally supposed to be a necklace, decided it was going to be a lariat instead:

I am also in the process of making things with the other bits, but they're not quite ready yet.

Looking forward to seeing what the properly talented people produce...

  11. Oh what a lovely necklace Sarah! Such beautiful color scheme and the way you combined the beads is great. Can it be worn any way around also? I am not participating in the party this time, but I do like to hop around and visit my online beading friends. x

    1. Yes it can also be worn with clasp at side - in fact it's better that way with certain necklines (can you tell I've spent a while trying it on with all my clothes?!!)

  12. Sometimes you just have the beads to speak what they want to be ;-) It's a very pretty lariat!

  14. There is a time to listen to the beads and a time to take control! Sounds like these beads were in charge of the agenda, Sarah LOL. Your lariat is beautifully designed and balanced :)

  27. Necklace or lariat (they are both the same purpose in my head and thus kinda the same thing), it's a beautiful creation. I like the way your colors work together so well.
And yes, why can't things turn out the same as they do in our heads. . .it is a shame.

  28. Love your lariat! The beads and colors are beautiful, I especially like the artist beads that add a lot of character to the necklace! Your son is a wise person :)

  29. Please tell your son my 21 yo daughter agrees 100% and has asked me the same question many times. She's an art student now and my answer has always been it gets easier the more you do it.... and now that she can make those things she sees in her head, she gets it. Keep encouraging and keep creating! Wonderful soup!
